Leading University in the field of Oceanographic Research
CHALLENGE
Determine potential utilization, customers, and desired equipment for a newbuilding research vessel.
RESULT
Developed a chartering strategy for a multi-disciplinary Research Vessel by conducting a comprehensive
market research study. We identified potential customers, third-party charter likelihood and sustainability, established Charterer relationships, and gathered feedback on vessel specification and type of scientific equipment to have onboard. A utilization model was created for different
seasons, areas of operation, and survey types.

CHALLENGE
Determine investment viability for an Aframax crude oil tanker including building costs, financing options, and suitable yards.
RESULT
Worked with an investment firm to create a ship finance and construction proposal for an Aframax crude oil tanker. The project consisted of yard selections, providing financing options, engaging yards in pricing discussions, and delivery terms.

Consortium of universities that own and operate a research vessel
CHALLENGE
Find customers to employ the Research Vessel when Universities were not using it for their science days and negotiate marine contract terms in addition to pricing agreements.
RESULT
Brokered multi-year deal and spot charters to increase utilization of the Research Vessel. The vessel was used for academic research, training, hydrographic and geophysical surveys, seismic data acquisition, geotechnical sampling, ROV platform support, and marine survey operations.
